I am writing this not just for myself, but for every woman who is working hard, leading with purpose, and navigating the challenges of public and professional life with resilience and integrity.
Recently, Mr. KM Shajahan (KM Shajahan) targeted me through a series of sexually derogatory, defamatory, and false content circulated via social media platforms. Following this, day before yesterday (04-06-25) an FIR has been registered against him at the Thiruvananthapuram City Cyber Crime Police Station under non-bailable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act.
Now let me be very clear.
I’m not being a feminist here. I genuinely believe in equality, true equality. I believe that men and women carry equal responsibilities in shaping society. My world is filled with valuable relationships with both men and women. I deeply respect the men around me, as mentors, advisors, and allies who safeguard, support, and treat me with dignity. They don’t see me through the lens of sexuality, but as an individual with dreams, rights, and the freedom to thrive, just like anyone else. Likewise, when I enter a new circle or meet new people, I look forward to discovering their qualities, the knowledge they hold, the kindness they carry, and the values they embody.
In a generation where the majority of people have embraced equality, where women are rising and contributing in every field, it is disturbing that individuals like Shajahan still exist. People who refuse to accept progress and actively attempt to pollute minds by portraying women as nothing more than sexual objects. What does he gain by reducing a woman’s achievement to mere gender favoritism?
Let me make it clear,
I don’t know Mr. Shajahan, not personally, not professionally. I have never crossed paths with him, directly or indirectly. I’m not sure if Shajahan can understand my words.
So I ask,
What was your intention, Shajahan?
Who gave you this “quotation” to attack my dignity and credibility? Are you doing this for attention? For money? Or are you simply frustrated by the fact that women today are thriving, rising to positions of power, leading institutions, and owning their voices?
At Kerala Pravasi Association (KPA), women’s empowerment is not a slogan, it’s a lived reality. Unlike political parties that reduce it to tokenism and speeches, we’ve made it a mission.
That’s why KPA is proudly led by a woman President—from the front, not the sidelines.
Regardless of your motive, you crossed a line.
You attempted to damage the reputation and public life I built with years of dedication, effort, and sacrifice.
But understand this. I will not stay silent. I will go to any length to ensure you are held accountable. Not just for me, but for every woman in Kerala. For every woman who deserves to walk through life with pride and safety.
The FIR I have filed is more than a legal step. It is a symbol of resistance, a call for justice, and a reminder that our dignity is not up for debate.
I believe in the legal system. I believe in the people, the majority of whom are good men and strong women who will not tolerate this kind of behaviour. And I believe that when one woman stands up, an entire society stands behind her.
Mr. Shajahan, this isn’t just about me anymore. You are a threat to every woman who dares to lead, to dream, to achieve.
And we are not afraid of you.
