No One Is Above the Law : A Step Closer to Justice – Key Progress about My Sexual Harassment Case Against KM Shajahan : No One Is Above the Law : A Step Closer to Justice – Key Progress about My Sexual Harassment Case Against KM Shajahan : KM Shajahan Confesses to Charges in Ongoing Legal Case ⚖️

On August 1, 2025, KM Shajahan appeared at the Thiruvananthapuram City Cyber Police and admitted to the charges filed against him in the sexual harassment and defamation case I initiated against KM Shajahan (former Additional Private Secretary to ex-Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan). As part of the investigation, he has been instructed to surrender all electronic devices involved in the offences for forensic examination. The final chargesheet and further legal action will now proceed through due process.

Background of the Case:
For over a year, KM Shajahan, former Additional Private Secretary to ex-Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, targeted me with a calculated and relentless digital campaign. He shared sexually explicit, defamatory and entirely false content online, repeatedly attempting to link me in a suggestive and demeaning manner with the current Leader of the Opposition. This was clearly aimed at damaging my dignity, credibility and professional life. From the legal findings, there is strong reason to believe this was not an isolated act but part of a larger politically driven conspiracy. I was used as a pawn in a malicious attempt to defame political rivals. His attacks did not stop with me, he also insulted senior journalists, especially women, who reported on this case, publishing defamatory videos against them as well. After I submitted a formal complaint to the Chief Minister’s Office on June 1, 2025, a criminal FIR was registered on June 4 under serious non-bailable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the IT Act. The Bar Council of Kerala later issued him a notice under Section 35 of the Advocates Act. He ignored this, just as he ignored the police summons issued for July 4 and a notice from the Kerala State Women’s Commission, which launched an independent inquiry into the gendered nature of the abuse.

Despite all this, Shajahan continues to upload defamatory videos using my personal photos, adding sexually suggestive captions and monetising this abuse across social platforms. The posts have invited thousands of vulgar and abusive comments, not just against me but against women in general.
This case is not just about one woman. It is about the deep-rooted misogyny that still exists in our society, where women who speak up or step forward are objectified, ridiculed and threatened.

I will pursue this case to its legal conclusion. This is not just about upholding my dignity, It is about standing up for every woman who has been silenced, harassed or humiliated. Let this send a clear message, digital violence and gendered hate will be confronted, exposed and held accountable.

Let me say this clearly. I don’t want anyone to think I’m going after this issue because of some feminist agenda. I’ve always stood for equality, not entitlement. I believe in merit, real effort and fairness, not just loud voices or labels.
I’ve been fortunate to have amazing men circle around me. Men I look up to as mentors, who feel genuinely happy when I succeed, who check on me quietly when things get tough, and who respect me for who I am, for my values, my work and how I treat people, not because of my gender. They celebrate each step I take and treat me as their equal. I’ve reached where I am in my professional life today because of relentless effort and countless sacrifices and the people who truly matter respect me for exactly that. They remind me that today’s generation doesn’t see women through the lens of sexuality or assume we are weak. But people like KM Shajahan, who try to turn a woman’s growth into something cheap and dirty, still carry that old, toxic mindset. And I’m not afraid to call that out.

No one should dare to assume that a woman who rises through relentless hard work, unbreakable willpower, and countless sacrifices owes her success to gender favouritism or backdoor deals. Success built with integrity doesn’t need anyone’s validation, and certainly not lies rooted in misogyny, and justice is not a favour. It is a right. And I intend to fight for it, fiercely.
